The origin of the name of each village

De'an Village

De'an Village was formerly known as Maopuwei, which included the names of three area: Maopu City, Dayi and Xiahuzai. About a hundred years ago, 36 wise people traveled from Fujian to Taiwan. At that time, the land was rich in thatch, so it was called Maopuwei in the Japanese era. It was not until after the restoration of Taiwan that the name was changed to De'an Village due to the restructuring of the administrative region, which also belonged to the Dongshan Township administrative district.

Guangxing Village

During the Jiaqing period, a group of people from Funanjing County, Zhangzhou, Fujian Province came to Taiwan to choose this place for reclamation. It is said that there was a cattle shelter in the area to facilitate the raising of cattle and the place was named Niu Liao Zi. Later, it showed a general vigorous atmosphere and changed it to Guangxing. In the 14th year of the Republic of China, part of the village was designated as North Guangxing District. At the same time, Kezailin was added to the planning section of Kezailin until the 3rd of the Republic of China. In thirty five years, it will be called Guangxing Village.

Lupu Village

Lupu, a small area in Lupu Village, was reclaimed by Qiu Mingli from Shao'an County, Zhangzhou, Fujian during the Jiaqing period. In the early days of Jiaqing, the mountain deer often appeared in this area and hence the reason why it is named Lupu.
